About Corey Oliver

Throughout my career in real estate, I’ve enjoyed every aspect of my work, from spotting a property that could be a good investment, through to developing a plan to revitalize it and seeing it through to completion. Every day is different, but the one constant is that I get to impact the community, providing better rental properties than what was there before. Currently, I’m the Chief Executive Officer at Community Venture Investment Corp. with responsibility for over 200 rental units on the south and west sides of Chicago. I pursue new investments, identifying properties that meet our criteria, and creating and managing the rehabilitation plans to develop them. Most recently, I planned and managed a $5M 60-unit redevelopment project. I worked for Community Venture before as a Senior Project and Property Manager when they expanded into the south side of Chicago. My responsibilities were to direct all the projects in that territory, from demolition through to completion. I left that role to pursue work as a basketball scouting agent for several years, arranging international placements for professional players, until Community Ventures asked me to return as the COO. Outside of the office, I like playing volleyball, going to the gym, and spending time with my family.
