About Corey Schoot

From an early age, I had an interest in computer graphics. It started with video games and science fiction, and then turned into something more with the rise in popularity of the web. With the future in mind, I went to College of DuPage to study web design and development. From there I went to Westwood College where I earned my Associate Degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia. In the summer of 2012, I began to focus on enhancing my skills on the web by learning web scripting and programming. Starting with Javascript and JQuery and ending with PHP and MySQL. The following year I learned HTML 5 and CSS3; making my ability to build mobile ready responsive webpages a reality. At Phillip's Flowers & Gifts I assist the Marketing Director and company Vice President in all aspects of marketing for Phillip's 10 Chicagoland locations and several floral websites. Marketing for chain of flower shops calls for a wide variety of marketing techniques and practices. On a given day I may be working with social media, building a web page, merchandizing, designing a magazine add, or producing a blog post. This year I plan to continue to build on my web skills, and grow my portfolio. I have always had a passion to learn and progress and will continue to strive to do so for the years to come.
