About Corey Shefman

I am a lawyer focused on promoting justice for Indigenous peoples. I am based in Toronto, and work with clients across Canada. I am called to the Bar in in Ontario, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Alberta, and work with First Nations and Inuit people and governments throughout Canada. I provide a wide range of Aboriginal law and Indigenous law services to my clients. While I am frequently called upon to litigate and mediate, I also advise on duty to consult and natural resource issues, governance issues, traditional lawmaking, employment law, as well as administrative and regulatory law. In both my professional and personal lives, I am a firm believer in social justice and the importance of leaving the world in a better state than it was in when we got here. As a lawyer, I have had the opportunity to improve the lives of my clients and I am always looking for other ways to contribute to our community, whether by providing affordable legal services, speaking to the media to bring attention to an important issue, or sitting on a board.
