I’ve had nine years of professional writing experience freelancing for companies across multiple industries, including marketing, healthcare, technology/science, bridal, fashion, and entertainment. At the University of Delaware, I discovered a joint passion for journalism and creative writing, and have since gained experience in both fields. After completing an editing and writing internship at iConcept Media Group, I worked as a copywriter for Marketing Insider Group and was the principal writer responsible for creating content for two of their clients in the healthcare and marketing industries. While my previous professional experience includes a combination of news and features writing, reporting entertainment news on various online platforms, my love for storytelling has led me to focus more on developing a career as a features writer. Pitching articles on movie and television theory, I worked as a Features Writer and Interviewer for the entertainment website Screen Rant for two+ years, which allowed me to cultivate SEO writing skills. Most recently, I’ve been published in the Delaware-based publications Delaware Seaside Bride, a bridal magazine serving the Delmarva coast, and Delaware Independent, a site covering local news in Southern Delaware. My background as a creative writer has given me the ability to pinpoint the heart of a human interest story and adapt my writing style to meet a client's specific voice or brand. My previous experience as a freelancer has given me the opportunity to write about a wide range of topics, as well as provided me with a blueprint for researching new subjects I’m less familiar with. My time at Marketing Insider Group made me adept at translating complex topics into more simplified language that a beginner could understand. As a self-sufficient freelancer, I’m accustomed to meeting tight deadlines, demonstrating attention to detail, and writing clean copy that’s nearly error-free and requires minimal editing.
