Bay to LA. Well not quite. I grew up in rural Northern California and attended UC Davis located above the Bay Area. Living in a state of approximately 39 million people where it’s a 12+ hour drive between the Oregon-California border and the California-Mexico border, I had never visited Southern California, and I was curious about what it was like, so after graduating while in the middle of a global pandemic, I packed all my belongings into my compact commuter sedan and moved to Los Angeles. I have since spent a few years living in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and working in the marketing and advertising industries – the classic experience in the media and entertainment capital of the U.S. From designing surveys and reviewing dashboards for quality assurance at a top 5 market research company to setting up pixel tracking and building reports for enterprise accounts at a post-startup TV advertisement measurement company, I have acquired a diverse skillset that includes data analysis, project and campaign management, and customer relationship management. I am most passionate about data analytics, visualization, and storytelling, and I am always looking for ways to improve in these areas. After a mid-year company-wide reorganization in which I played a pivotal role in communicating with executive leadership and client teams to help facilitate a seamless transition of account management, I absorbed 15 new accounts and took ownership of delivering 8 additional recurring reports. Having observed inefficiencies with how some of the reports were developed, I collaborated with the Account Managers to streamline the process using Excel and Infogram to create a replicable template. The result has been decreased time to build reports enabling us to deliver them to clients faster for review and help inform their business decisions. Ever curious and eager to explore new opportunities, I look forward to my next career and location moves. I might switch coasts or even countries and am excited to see how else I can apply my skillset across other industries.
