About Cornell Augustus Sneed

I’m Dr. Cornell Augustus Sneed, an educator and coach passionate about student-athlete enhancement, student development, and sports leadership. With a Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership from East Tennessee State University and an anticipated Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Harvard University, I am committed to bettering myself to best help students and athletes excel both in the classroom and in their professional lives. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor in Sports/Business Management at Columbia College, where I design and teach courses that engage students in the rapidly evolving world of sports management. Whether on-ground or online, I aim to create learning environments that challenge students while preparing them for real-world success. I’ve had the privilege of developing and teaching a variety of courses, and aided by my Master of Science in Instructional Design and Learning Technologies, I strive to ensure each course meets Quality Matters standards for excellence. In addition to my work as a professor, I’m the Associate Head Track Coach and Throws Coach at Columbia College. Track and field has been a major part of my life for the past 24 years, and I’m proud to have helped athletes achieve record-breaking performances and win multiple conference championships. Prior to full-time teaching, I worked in student-athlete enhancement and academic advising at ETSU, the University of Memphis, and Tulane University. During my time at Tulane, where I served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement, I helped raise over $2 million in program funding, developed leadership programs, and created a more inclusive environment through DEI initiatives.
