I really enjoy working with individuals and being a Medical Champion. I worked in a level 1 Trauma Emergency room at Memorial regional hospital in Hollywood, Florida assisting with the triage of patients, getting them pre-registered for services, upon consent performed HIV tests using Assay serum testing. During my time at Memorial, I performed EKGs, casted broken bones, assisted emergency room doctors with minor procedures, performed blood draws. At Orlando health, I worked in a pediatric genetics office where I was privileged to meet and work with children and their families who are faced with the challenges of genetic disadvantages. This was a delicate role that offoarded me with countless opportunities to learn, grow, and expand my knowledge. I worked with Teen Xpress a branch of Arnold Palmer's hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida helping to provide primary and routine care, administered VFC shot, did blood draws, updated shot records, to under privileged children via a Mobile unit. I often picked up shifts on various Mother baby floors to gain more experience. I learned to give baby baths, checked and monitored patient vitals, and provided comfort care to mother, baby, and family during their stay at Winnie Palmers hospital for Mother and Baby. During my tenure at Orlando have, I worked in a General surgey office, where I learned to remove JP drains, remove staples and stitches. I assisted with Fine needle Aspirations, I assisted with Incision and drainages. It was my responsibility to ensure that all rooms and instruments were sterile and cleaned. I scheduled patient's for surgery and radiology procedures. This is where I discovered that I really enjoyed the billing and coding aspect of my duties. I researched ways to get into the billing and coding department and I learned what was needed to be prosperous in this area. I began working as a Patient accounts rep billing and applying codes to patient Accounts.
