About Cory Lavin

I was born in San Diago in the mid 80's, my parents relocated us here in Portland when I was 9 years old, they claimed their reason was to flee the growing crime rate in California, but I think the real reason was the earthquakes. Portland is my home and I love it here. I got my first Job when I was 14, pasting logo stickers onto disposable coffee cups for the local Java dispensary. From then on I split my time there and at my Mother's coffee stand where I learned to make coffee until they both closed when I was 17. It's funny, there was a time when I could make any type of coffee a person could ask for, and I don't even drink the stuff. After that I got into retail as a Cashier and stock clerk for a few years, through my years in Collage. It was. not very stimulating, but that's alright, I was young and lacked direction at the time. What was then only a Hobby is now my life's path. I knew what I wanted to do with my life while I was still in high school, 15 or so, Filmmaking is my calling.By 22 I was working at a call center for a windshield repair service, I would cold call people for sales, I liked working there, it was a good job and for a while I did very well, but my position depended on sales and my numbers slipped because frankly I didn't have the motivation I do now. From there I worked in Restaurants and Bars/Clubs while doing Video work on the side, that was 4 years ago.2 years ago I also began Child Care, looking after my Nieces and Infant Nephew, I get paid to spend time with 3 kids I love, not a bad deal at all.I lead a simple life, the money I have sustains me no more, no less.Specialties: Combining business optimism with conservative pragmatism, lateral thinking and problem solving, computer operating systems troubleshooting, Childcare & juvenile conflict resolution, communication, publicity coordination, Production Management, advanced Communication, Problem solving.
