About Cosma Bolis

I am a graduate student in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Program in Environmental Economics and Policy (M3EP). I am currently studying at the University of Copenhagen and will move to Milan next year to specialize in climate change and energy economics. My academic and professional journey has been shaped by diverse international experiences. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics at Bard College Berlin, a European liberal arts college, where I honed my writing, research, and interdisciplinary skills. On campus, I also served as a Residential Advisor, gaining leadership and diplomacy skills. I completed two exchanges: one at the Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program in New York City—where I interned with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU)—and another at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. During high school, I spent a formative year as an exchange student in rural Oregon, USA, living with a host family before returning to Italy to complete my diploma. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt to new environments, communicate across cultures, and approach complex challenges creatively and effectively, while sparking my enduring interest in living and exploring abroad. I am passionate about advancing sustainable energy solutions, particularly the role of nuclear energy in achieving a low-carbon future while sustaining economic growth. My bachelor’s thesis explored the prospects for a nuclear renaissance in Italy and its broader implications for energy policy.
