About Coy Walker

I was raised on a generational family farm. Our operation is centered on production of row crops and award-winning show cattle. I was a very active member of 4-H up to graduating high school, and I enjoyed my time in the group exhibiting cattle, pigs, and sheep. I made many great memories through my time in 4-H in the exhibition ring. Hours of practice and dedication rewarded my efforts with several awards. I won Champion Hampshire Barrow at the Indiana State Fair (2015) and Grand Overall Steer at the Tipton County Fair (2017). During my tenure in 4-H, I was also an active FFA member, to the extent I served as vice-president of my chapter. I was active in competition throughout my time in FFA. I entered several career development competitions at the local, state, and national level. I achieved 3rd High Individual in beef at the 2017 Indiana State Livestock Judging Competition, and was honored to compete at Nationals on three separate occasions. I feel that the most notable achievements from my years in FFA were through earning both an FFA State Degree and the highly-esteemed American Degree. After graduating from high school I earned an Associate in Arts Degree at Lake Land College (Mattoon, IL) and have continued my education by pursuing a BS program in Agricultural Science at Western Illinois University (Macomb, IL). My current program will result in an expected degree conferral of Spring, 2023. After graduation, I plan on entering the workforce as a professional where I hope to contribute positively to the field of agriculture.
