About Craig Harvey

Previously a Parliamentary Researcher, I am now a Pricing/Underwriting Manager operating in UK General Insurance. I work on the technical side of pricing, understanding changing cost trends and helping to ensure the business obtains the most accurate manufacturing cost across all Home accounts. In my first managerial role, I oversaw valuations for UK Personal Lines Motor and Aviva Ireland Motor and Home. I previously spent just over a year as a Pricing Consultant at Aviva focusing largely on motor insurance renewals. Skilled in a range of analysis and pricing tools, I analysed and recommend rating changes and led mini projects looking to improve profitability and customer outcomes. I also recently completed a PhD in Defence Studies through King's College London and the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom looking at the strength of external intervention and its impact on conflict resolution using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Additionally, I taught on a second year undergraduate module titled 'Statecraft, War and Diplomacy' at King's for two years delivering seminars on a range of soft and hard power tools including nuclear strategy, mediation and terrorist negotiations.
