About Craig Rees

Trained by the Australian Defence Force fresh out of school was an amazing experience and learning curve. This experience opened my eyes to effective man-management and the value of the team environment to achieve the impossible. Starting out at Resource Recovery as a skip truck driver gave me the insight into the business from the ground up, this experience has been invaluable in being able to convey my vision to the team in language that they understand and can relate to. Working in a social enterprise or not for profit has also been very rewarding, changing the not for profit perception to teach people that it is really profit for purpose in as much we provide a commercial quality waste service that generates profits which are then invested into social capacity building within our communities. This social capacity building could be more jobs for our target group and/or assisting our other business units in providing those gap services that are not provided by government. Community Recycling Enterprises are an amazing way for Councils to partner with to achieve their waste management strategies. This also assists councils in building Social capacity within the community. Thanks for your time to read this.
