Who would have thought that my former positions, including sales of Heavy Industrial Equipment and Educational Surplus, would be the perfect tie-in to a career in Hospitality? It's all about people! I absolutely love the interactions with the guest at the Resort. My job is to catalyze excitement in our facility and in the experience of Yosemite National Park. When I communicate with the guests, my goal is to usher them into an anticipation of awe (like a child anticipates a trip to Disneyland). For those who have returned from the Park, I strive to be a sponge in which they can pour out their emotions of how great the experience was for them. Everyone desires to share their experiences when they've been inspired by the extraordinary. Hospitality, whether family or hotel guests is very much the same, you simply become someone who cares.
