About Craig Sain

I have more than 30 years’ experience in the Liner Container Shipping industry working in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. During this time, I have enjoyed the breadth of engagement with many customers, stakeholders and industry representatives across the supply chain. I currently work for Ports of Auckland where I have responsibility for our Commercial and Customer relationships. My role, which I enjoy immensely, includes managing relationships across all facets of our business from Shipping Lines to Import and Export cargo owners, freight forwarders, trucking companies and other key stakeholders. I believe that Ports of Auckland have a great story to tell and a bright future ahead of us. Ultimately, my desire is to achieve the win/win, which is not always an easy or achievable outcome. As part of the Ports executive team, I believe we have a sound business strategy in place. We’re focused on driving a positive culture within our organisation, working closely with our stakeholders in order to build long-term relationships, and taking on a sustainable and leading role in introducing new technology and innovation into our business so that we can operate as efficiently and productively as possible. It’s an exciting time for Ports of Auckland and I’m proud to be part of the team that is helping to create such a world-class operation right here in New Zealand.
