Strategic/Policy Development/Technical (current role)- Paddock-to-plate food safety expertise and engagement, including->regulatory structure and oversight of cell cultured foods -> novel approach to introduction of food safety standards covering leafy vegetables, melons, berries -> Overseeing development of digital solutions using Artificial Intelligence to streamline regulatory operations, early detection of food safety hazards - Participation in committees and working groups within the national food regulation system -> Co-Chair ISFR Incident Response Working Group -> NSW ISFR representative -> Data Analytics, Horticulture Implementation, Egg Standard Review, National Foodborne Illness Reduction Working groups Operational/Reactive (previous role)- Management of a specialist food incident response & investigation team (e.g. Salmonella outbreaks; anaphylactic reactions; pesticide residues)- Coordinate NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) state and national responses to food incidents and recalls (represent DPI when the Bi-National Food Safety Network and/or National Food Incident Response Protocol is activated Activation of cross-functional, cross-agency incident teams to manage response to significant issues and developments (including Ministerial Liaison, Media & Public Affairs, Science & Technical, other specialist teams as required)
