About Crissy Baker

As a special education teacher, my main goal is for growth and achievement for all my students. I have been a Special Education Teacher for four years and have built many meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the communities where I have taught. I received my degree in education through Southern Illinois and then decided to get endorsed as an LBS1 through National Louis University. In addition, I have endorsements in Math, English, self-contained, and English as a Second Language. I am completing my master’s in Special Education through the American College of Education.My goal is to provide an environment that is safe, inclusive, and engaging for all my students to learn and excel at their full potential. I have had the privilege of working with students with a range of learning disabilities, ages, and cultural backgrounds. I started my first year as an LBS1 in a dual language school and had to adapt my teaching strategies to the student's unique needs. The world and technologies are continuously changing and I will continue to engage in professional development and further my education to support my students to the best of my ability.
