About Cristal Borrelli

My name is Cristal and my family is not fond of the outdoors. It reminds them of their treacherous, month-long journey that they pursued on foot from El Salvador to the United States. This means that I did not grow up immersed in nature, but a friend exposed me to Yosemite National Park when I was thirteen. It changed my perception of nature, I was captivated. Eight years later, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy from Western Washington University. I hold six years of clerical experience, one year of bar-tending experience and 3 years of college education based around the environment. My previous job that I held for four years, as a leasing agent/receptionist at an apartment complex, relied on me for the safe handling of security deposits and monthly rent from almost 500 tenants. My occupation as a lead bartender at a restaurant consisted of charging customers, taking payments, returning change, taking monthly inventory of bar supplies and ordering needed supplies. I also gained food and drink handling safety and multi-tasking. My job at Western Washington University’s College of the Environment consisted of working with data input on excel and providing prompt customer service to the hundreds of students at the college. My daily conversations with these students inspired me to follow my passion, which is working with an environmental organization. I am very experienced with clerical work and extremely passionate about the environment. Working a clerical or outdoor job at an environmental organization is my goal. I am looking forward to leveraging my academic knowledge and work experience in a professional setting.
