About Cristina Pinal D. O.

Cristina E. Pinal, DO is a board-certified physician by the American Board of Medical Specialties and specializes in Nephrology. She has a special interest in chronic kidney disease, hypertension, autoimmune disease, and the management of chronic illness through lifestyle changes and with an integrative approach. Dr. Pinal is interested in how medicine can be improved by focusing on patient goals and shifting autonomy and control back into the patient perspective through education. She believes in disease prevention and a multimodal management of chronic illness using pharmacotherapies when appropriate and utilizing nutrition, stress reduction, and sleep optimization to enhance health. The ultimate goal is to help the patient regain a sense of their own vitality. Dr. Pinal graduated from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor Scott and White – Texas A&M. She completed an Integrative Medicine fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She is also a member of the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Pinal has a deep respect for the sophistication of the human body, its ability to withstand change, and its rooted relation to the earth and the environment.
