About Crystal Ellis

As a youth, I was an energetic, social being. In grade school I was consistently creating connections with those around me. I’ve been building relationships and engaging with people from a young age, which helped me to refine student service and engagement skills for future career opportunities. Fast forward to now and I see these skills as imperative to my career in student services and advising, where I assist others in their endeavours and engage within the post-secondary community. No matter what I’m working on, I get to know the students, staff, and faculty on different levels in order to provide the best services tailored to their needs. I work diligently towards student goals and initiatives to support success for all parties involved in many areas of student life. Completing a Master of Education degree at the University of Calgary has also promoted these skills and my understanding of the academic, financial, social, and wellness needs of students. In my most recent role, I managed many graduate student programs (advising, mentorship, student groups, financial support, elections, events, executive support, and more), that aimed to enhance and support their experience. I’m passionate about these programs, student advising/coaching, and the guidance I provided, because these areas were important to me as I navigated post-secondary life not too long ago. I always strive to provide the best service possible, and learn from others, as I continually improve and grow within the post-secondary community.
