About Crystal Munson

I entered the professional world as a house manager for the only recreation of Shakespeares indoor theatre - The Blackfriars Theatre in Staunton, VA. I moved to Los Angeles in 2007 and started working in the 99+ seat theatre circuit as an AEA Stage Manager and producer working for theatres like Theatre40, Greenway Arts, Disney Concert Hall, and The LA Gay and Lesbian Center. Through working with Leonard Nimoy and his wife on a small one woman show in Beverly Hills, I entered the film industry in January 2008 on Star Trek as a PA. After many years of PAing on projects like Inception, Dark Knight Rises, Crazy, Stupid Love, and Mortecai, I joined the DGA in 2014 and have worked as a Key 2nd Assistant Director on major motion films such as Red One, Red Notice, Godzilla King of the Monsters, and Shang-Chi Legend of the Ten Rings, and some series television such as Fear the Walking Dead. I love working on full time 2nd Units (favorites include Wakanda Forever & Bad Boys Ride or Die) which allows me to be a part of large action sequences and intricate special effects. Being an AD has given me amazing opportunities to travel the world and have access to incredible places I would never have had the ability to experience otherwise. I have met incredible people all over and have kept lasting connections. In my spare time I practice photography; Nature photography is my specialty, and I hope to showcase my work in an exhibit one day! Lastly, and most importantly, I have a sweet, little boy who I am excited to share this exciting world with.
