About Curry Kinyon

After spending 20+ years in the always challenging and changing Pro AV Industry there is no place I'd rather be. I have enjoyed working on a variety of projects from large 288x288 fiber switching and distribution products that securely transmit, receive and distribute Audio, Video, Serial, IR and Ethernet throughout installation sights spanning miles, down to small Audio Video Format Converters used in mass. Most of the areas I currently serve as manager I had previously worked as an engineer. Areas of Engineering R&D and Product Validation I have proficiency in: Manage and lead up to 20 engineering staff emphasizing and supporting creative and proficient solutions while developing a structure that has many subject matter experts in complimentary areas. Yearly budget and expenditure development and management, striving to get more for less. Develop long term strategic planning with management teams while developing and supporting multiple engineering teams to meet those plans. Manage Product Validation and Quality Assurance teams inside R&D with focus in developing test platforms to provide a wide range of test automation development. Software, Firmware and Hardware testing from low level function blocks and circuits to multi-staged mixed product and long distance configurations. Manage Printed Circuit Board design team that designs up to: 24 layer count, part count, 18Gbps multi-channel, mid-backplane with blind, buried and back-drilled vias. Integrating internally developed automation and scripting tools while maximizing the 3rd party design tool capabilities. Manage Technical Writing team that gets included in product development activities and meetings to support a variety of documentation needs for large and complex professional products.
