Trade association advocate for majority of my 30- year career. Most recently have engaged legislative issues nationally in the states related to risk classification and the use of genetic test results in underwriting, consumer data privacy and the implementation of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' regulatory and legislative models in the states. Particular skill sets include ability to quickly absorb information, however complex, and relay it to public policy makers in a way that is easily understood. Also excel in writing (comment letters, issue summaries) and public speaking including committee hearings. Have frequently coordinated coalition advocacy outreach on life insurance and consumer protection issues in the past 18 years. Advocacy efforts have included the assembling of lobbying and public affairs teams.
