About Curtis Cecchi

Professional horticulturist and fisheries biologist. Open to new opportunities. I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a minor is Statistics from the University of South Carolina. I graduated with high honors (GPA 3.7+) and leadership distinction in research. I am fluent in botany and ichthyology as I tailored my degree to be focused in those two fields. I also have significant formal training in chemistry and applied statistics. I have 2.5 years of lab research experience in the plant microbiology lab of Dr. Johannes Stratmann. The work I did in his lab pertained mostly to studying plant hormone signaling kinetics in response to their environment. I also have background in environmental management systems and I am familiar with the implementation of UN environmental standards including EMS 14001. In my free time I'm an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. I fished competitively in high school at the varsity level freshman through senior year and semi-professionally throughout my four years in college as a member of the Anglers at USC Fishing Club. I continue to compete in bass tournaments to this day. During my time as a member of the Anglers at USC Bass Fishing Team I learned a significant amount about the fishing industry and how to operate within it. I engaged in marketing for companies that sponsored our club by posting content to my social media pages, promoting the products that I was using from our sponsors on the water. The time I spent on the team not only made me a better fisherman, but taught me valuable skills in marketing, social media, communication and about how to carry ones self in the fishing industry.
