About Curtis Cox

I am an experienced clinician with an extensive background in crisis intervention, mental health care, and addiction recovery. I specialize in creating emotionally attuned, trauma-informed spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether I’m working in acute care, emergency crisis response, facilitating therapeutic groups, or walking alongside individuals through complex life transitions, my approach is grounded in empathy, promotion of autonomy, clinical integrity, and cultural humility. My foundation is a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing from Brandon University, and I’m currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University to deepen my clinical practice and expand my impact in therapeutic relationships. My lens is shaped by lived experience: from navigating personal adversity and systemic barriers to discovering the privilege of healing, education, and secure connection. These experiences are not only part of my story; they’re the compass by which I engage with others. I aim to cultivate spaces that honour both struggle and strength, and I bring this commitment into every interaction, both professionally and personally.
