We aren’t going back now…the plant-based economy is here. My mission is to create sustainable food systems to better utilize resources through technology innovation and to promote responsible consumption and production. For more than 20 years as Director of Business Development, I have been designing go-to-market strategies to launch innovative technologies that maximize yield while reducing waste across sustainable food production, aquaculture, and clean-tech sectors. I engage scientists and engineers on ideation, translate scientific insights into pilot programs, and shape new business models from conception to commercialization. Fluent in Spanish, I have cross-cultural experience in the US, Kenya, Japan, and Puerto Rico. I am a Trained Auditor in Veriflora and Sustainably Grown certification programs for large agriculture producers in the Central Valley, SCS Global Services. Some of my impact to date- Secured $3M financing for sustainable seafood technology company, Smart Catch - Generated $300K revenue over 18 months from seafood industry leaders including Trident Seafoods and O’Hara Corporation - Facilitated $50K strategic investment from leading seafood processing equipment manufacturer, Baader Group - Launched first children’s Hispanic cable network, Sorpresa, in the US and sold it for $20M - Expanded a six month $50K consulting contract into a four year $1M advisory engagement with Fuji Photo Film in Silicon Valley I have been called many things in my life: shrimp farmer, world traveler, biz developer, social and environmental advocate, seafood entrepreneur, startup advisor, marketer, project manager, and analyst.
