About Curtis Ruppal

As part of Plante Moran’s management team, I lead our tax practice. In this role, I’m responsible for delivering tax consulting and compliance services to our clients, recruiting and development of our tax team, and collaborating and integrating with our assurance, management consulting, and wealth management practices to best serve each client. Prior to my current role on our management team, I led the firm’s state and local tax practice for over 15 years. I’m proud that this has grown into a specialty tax advisory practice with team members across the firm’s footprint serving clients throughout the United States and foreign businesses expanding into the U.S. More recently, I led our manufacturing and distribution tax practice and have seen first-hand our tax team deliver value-add tax and business advisory services to our domestic and international clients. What I appreciate most about Plante Moran is our “We Care” culture — we care about our clients, our staff, and our communities. We have stated principles that I have seen our leaders reference regularly to guide us in how we serve clients and our team.
