About Cynthia Goodwin

For more than 30 years, I have been a leader of teams and a specialist in communications, marketing, strategic planning, social responsibility, stakeholder engagement, issues and crisis management – and getting things done. All based from my beautiful home province of New Brunswick, Canada. I founded CCGoodwin Consulting in 2019, today a purpose-driven, award-winning firm with a team of high-performing practitioners serving clients in multiple sectors across Canada. Both strategic and tactical, I help my clients architect plans that are both ambitious and realistic. My goal is to lead with empathy, diplomacy and honesty. I'm honoured that Atlantic Business Magazine selected me as a Top 50 CEO for our region in 2024 and 2025, and even prouder to have our firm named one of Atlantic Canada's Best Places to work for three years in a row (2023-25). Creating fulfilling careers and growth opportunities for others is a real joy. Before founding CCG, I was President of a regional, award-winning marketing communications firm, with clients ranging from world-class corporations and national associations to small businesses and non-profit organizations. I loved my time at Revolution Strategy. I spent nearly 10 years leading corporate communications and social responsibility at the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, where I developed and delivered its first-ever Responsible Use strategy and served as media spokesperson. I still benefit today from the investment Atlantic Lottery makes in its leaders. I led marketing communications teams for both the University of New Brunswick and Mount Allison University. Make no mistake, leading communications within a university environment is busy and hard.and special and inspiring. I also had the chance to play a senior role in public affairs, sustainability and government relations for Irving Oil Limited. Irving Oil brought me to Saint John - a life-changing move. I have a Bachelor of Journalism (Highest Honours in Journalism and Law) from Carleton University and an Indigenous Canada certificate from the University of Alberta. My latest learning obsession is governance. I am a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and earned my ICD.D designation in June 2024. In the community, I have served as a Board Director and leader for numerous non-profit organizations over the past decade. I am currently Board Vice-Chair of the newly amalgamated United Way Maritimes.
