About Cynthia Gundersen

As the President and Chief Engineer of AMU Engineering, Inc, I have been leading a team of engineers for over 22 years, providing innovative solutions for various mechanical engineering projects. My expertise lies in mechanical design, analysis, fabrication, and assembly, with a focus on spaceflight instrumentation and structure. We offer turn key solutions for problems! Prior to opening my business, I worked as Lead Mechanical Engineer at NASA/GSFC, where I coordinated the mechanical design, analysis, fabrication, and assembly of the ConTour Neutral Gas Ion Mass Spectrometer (NGIMS). This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the field of space sciences. I hold an MSME from The George Washington University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I value nothing more in my profession than the young energetic and talented engineers that AMU and my customers were able to offer a chance to thrive. My team works in an incredible, efficient manner gaining the respect of any tech or management team that they have worked with.
