Everyone has a thing. Whether you are passionate about writing code, or what colors and fonts are more click-worthy than others, or if it's teaching children or caring for pets. Most people even know what their thing is. I'd like to think I'm still figuring mine out. Hi, I'm Cynthia. My thing is growth. I started out thinking I would be in marketing, but the graphics and artistry never clicked for me. However, I used those hard won collegiate skills to land my first job in a VERY small business helping it grow. It was the first of 3 flower shops that I would learn to love like children over the next 5 years. While I loved almost everything about that job, sometimes life happens and you need a change of scenery. Then came Dallas, where I decided to hop back into sales. I knew I was good at it, and it was easy money, but while I never loved the industry, I loved watching the little branches I worked at grow because my team's efforts made an actual difference in our success. But that difference wouldn't be enough for me. The big corporations with their committees and entire departments devoted to red tape would ensure my energy there wouldn't last. And finally, Chorbie. I was referred here by a close friend, who had become a manager at this small home services business. I'll be honest, I was skeptical. While I didn't love my job, I did find it satisfying and the quality of life it afforded was very hard to give up. But then I met the team. Never in my 20 years of professional life had I ever met a more passionate group of people. Their intensity and dedication were off the charts! And they needed their first sales person to help grow. I went through a long series of interviews and prayer with my husband before I said yes, but it was the best career decision I have made thus far. Over the past 3 years, I have held several positions within the company, and finally found my niche in development. We jokingly called my first position Chorbie's Executive Assistant, because I work to serve each and every individual that works for us, making their jobs easier, and creating opportunities to expand and grow within our industry. I still do as the Vice President of Operations. I am now officially a #FireorRetire Core Lifer. I wake up and eat/sleep/breathe something I love every day. No one can ask for more and I can't wait to see what this business has in it's future, and mine.
