About Cynthia Walker

An accomplished executive in complex and highly regulated organizations, Cynthia Walker, MBA, has led the financial and administrative functions at Yale School of Medicine ($2 billion in annual revenues,$50 million in annual capital investments) and at Harvard Medical School. She serves as a Mutual Fund Board Independent Director.Inspired by the tri-partite mission of education, research and clinical care, and drawing on deep financial and planning expertise, she ensures that effective people, finances, facilities and infrastructure are in place to advance academic priorities. As a leader, she has a proven track record of building high performing teams; aligning resources with institutional missions; strengthening systems and processes with a particular focus on research administration; and collaborating across complex institutions to guide university-wide initiatives. A teacher and coach at heart, Cynthia finds fulfillment in identifying talented individuals, mentoring them to support their professional development, and strengthening team collaboration and engagement. Active at the national level, Cynthia served as chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Business Affairs. Cynthia serves as an Independent Director of the Natixis and Loomis Sayles mutual funds and of the Natixis ETFs, representing the interests of individual and institutional shareholders invested in $70 billion of assets under management in 50 mutual funds. She serves on the Audit and Governance Committees. Previously, she served as Chair of the Audit Committee. As Chair of the Governance Committee, she led trustee recruitments that enhanced the diversity of the board.Her volunteer activities focus on improving early childhood education and school readiness.
