D. Barret Broussard is the Principal Attorney at Broussard Law LLC, a new and innovative law firm dedicated to providing smart, effective, and efficient legal solutions for both clients and other attorneys. Barret also has extensive experience working in courts throughout the United States, which allows him to develop effective litigation strategies for clients. Upon graduation from law school, he spent two years serving as a staff attorney at the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. During law school, Barret worked in chambers for Chief Judge Alex Kozinski on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Judge Amy Totenberg on the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and Judge Fredericka Wicker on the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Barret is very active in the greater Atlanta community, and particularly so in the LGBTQ legal community. He is a past president of the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia (SBA), the statewide bar association devoted to promoting the interests of LGBTQ people in the legal profession and the judiciary. Barret serves on the Atlanta Leadership Council for Lambda Legal, as well as the Board of Directors of Georgia Equality. Barret is also a member of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2018. He was recognized as one of Atlanta’s most powerful leaders by Atlanta Magazine in the Atlanta 500 list (2020), and voted the "Best Lawyer" by the readers of the Georgia Voice (2019).
