About Daan Dohmen

Freedom is my greatest value. The freedom to think, to act and to be who you are. I learned that from my grandfather, a resistance fighter who survived the war but was imprisoned in Dachau. As a child I went back there with him. I saw what happens when freedom disappears. Since then I know: freedom is never guaranteed. You must protect it. Later I discovered that health is also a form of freedom. When my father and brother-in-law died of pancreatic cancer within a short time, I saw what it means to be trapped in a sick body. That insight drove me to start research, and two companies in healthcare. To build technology that helps older people live independently. And to use AI to prevent avoidable care. I sold the companies, but their mission continues in already 135 countries. Freedom also brings responsibility. If you are healthy and privileged, you have a duty to give something back. That is the foundation of Nassau420. A place where Brains and Boots strengthen each other to make our society more resilient. Where Defence and business learn to work together in times of change, confusion and pressure.My father taught me to see people as they are, without judgement. My grandfather taught me that you must always create your own future. These two lessons are my compass. Because real freedom needs courage. And action.
