About Daan Verkade

Hi, I’m Daan! A Cyber Security Specialist in Training & Software Testing Consultant I am passionate about Cyber Security, with expertise in IoT device security, encryption, and malware threat analysis. My background in Computer Science is supported by hands-on experience in penetration testing, API performance testing, and automated test framework development. I sharpen my skills by participating in Capture the Flag (CtF) competitions and completing courses on Hack The Box, Udemy, and other cyber security training platforms. Currently, I work part-time as a Software Testing Consultant at Anago, where I lead projects in: Cypress automated testing, where I develop scalable testing frameworks to simulate user behavior and improve QA efficiency. API stress testing with K6, where I designing smoke, load, heavy load, and spike tests to ensure application stability under high user demand. I am always exploring the latest in ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and performance optimization to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats. Outside of work, I contribute to university projects, rehearse with my band Nog Niets, and enjoy golf.
