About Daile Cross

I am the editor of WAtoday and lead a team of talented journalists who write for our local audience plus national network, including for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. My mission is to provide our readers with high quality, independent and thoughtful journalism that informs, engages, and inspires them. I am a hands-on leader who takes charge during major breaking news events and works closely with reporters to ensure their work meets the highest standards. I am also responsible for communicating and collaborating with other leaders across the national company, as we work together on news of national importance. I have a strong background in print and online news, communications and strategy, and I have skills in team leadership, government relations, and people management. I spent two years as a senior media adviser to the Treasurer and Ministers in the state government and excelled in designing media strategies, crisis management, leadership training and event management. I am passionate about delivering news with impact and integrity and take a strong interest in the needs of my team, working to develop their skills and achieve our goals together.
