About Daisy Valk
I’m Daisy, a first-generation college graduate who grew up in Oregon and has called Texas home for the last 12 years. With over 16 years of experience in social work, I started my career working with federal inmates and now focus on supporting survivors of sexual assault at The Women’s Center of Tarrant County, where I’m proud to celebrate my 10th year. Beyond my work at the Women’s Center, I serve on the state board for the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, overseeing the Education component of the Latinas in Progress program and collaborating with Education Chairs from 7 of our 10 chapters statewide. I’m also married and enjoy staying engaged with my community through my role at UTA Fort Worth, where I manage graduate recruitment and community outreach for the UTAFW program. Making a difference in people’s lives is what drives me every day.
