Vision: To radiate care and drive while gaining the respect of my peers and patients and furthering my education in the nursing field. Mission: To use my compassion and knowledge to provide my patients with the health to be able to seek happiness and fulfillment in life. Philosophy: The concept of nursing is something that cannot be simplified into a concrete definition. Nursing is more than an occupation; it is a continually evolving model of care and service to others. My personal nursing philosophy aligns well with that of Jean Watson. She stresses that a human-to-human caring approach leads to the nurse respecting the overall meaning of life (Beth Perry Black, 2017, pg. I think that it is imperative to remember that we are all humans who have the same basic needs and all crave happiness and fulfillment in life. Patients look to their nurses for answers, understanding, comfort, healing, and a voice, so it is our responsibility to be there for them in both a medical and compassionate way. No two will ever be the same, however, while providing nursing care, each patient should be given equal respect and dignity, regardless of their beliefs, culture, and ethnicity. By following my nursing philosophy and striving toward my mission, I hope to go above and beyond to make sure that my patient’s receive optimal care.
