I am a dedicated professional with a PhD focused in Financial Management and Corporate Governance from the University of New England (AU) and my thesis was on ‘The role of corporate financial control and governance mechanisms in the successful financial management of a small not-for-profit organisation in Australia’. I have extensive experience in business development having transformed three businesses that were on the verge of winding down, establishing two other new business ventures from scratch and assisting numerous start-ups. I am an experienced business development and growth strategist and my expertise lies in all aspects of running a successful business and/or non-profit organisation. In the past, I was the Director of the Armidale and Region Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place Inc, the CEO of the Armidale and District Business Enterprise Centre and the Director of the University of New England's English Language Centre. My expertise lies in restructuring organisations and instilling an efficient internal culture where staff are focused on performance and progress. My skills include budget-management, increasing profitability, cutting costs, working on diversifying business, making optimum use of resources, managing budget blow-outs, mentoring small business owners, preparing business plans and assisting owners implement them. I have years of experience in coaching, event management, public speaking, and fundraising.
