About Daivon Manning

I am a Lieutenant at Virginia Department of Corrections, where I have been working for over three years in various roles, from Correctional Officer to Correctional Sergeant. In 2022, I've obtain my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at American Public University System. My core competencies include public safety, leadership development, and public speaking. In my current role, I establish and maintain case records, assist inmates with daily objectives and service programs, and prepare them for release while promoting pro-social behavior. I also oversee all institutional counts, inspect employees and facilities for compliance and safety, and conduct random inspections. I facilitate evidence-based groups and seminars, and work with a diverse team of professionals and stakeholders. I am passionate about helping inmates reintegrate into society and reducing recidivism rates. I value collaboration, accountability, and integrity, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the organization.
