About Dajana Dedic

Hello, my name is Dajana and I am very happy to be joining the LinkedIn community. I originally come from Melbourne, Australia, where I completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (OT) at Monash University in 2013. I studied OT after my brother sustained a serious hand injury that required months of rehabilitation from a Hand Therapist. After observing my brothers experience, I became very intrigued and excited about a career that allowed me to develop close working relationships (especially during such a vulnerable time in their lives), gaining a deep and complex understanding of the human body that was always evolving with new insights and learning, and a career where I could make a positive impact on peoples lives. Since graduating, I was grateful to be able to commence a position within the Hand Therapy world, where I started as a new graduate for Jane Aarons at Peninsula Hand Therapy in 2013. At this practice with a wonderful team, I was able to develop and strengthen my skills as a clinician, assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide breadth of conditions of the upper limb, including acute, chronic, traumatic, neurologic and congenital conditions. In recent years I also took on the responsibility of training students and new graduate therapists at my clinic. Being able to supervise and guide a therapist through their first stages and help them develop their clinical skills and both professional and personal confidence is something that I am deeply proud of, and I hope that in future roles I will also be able to mentor or supervise in some capacity. Outside of Occupational Therapy, I have a passion for music, as it is something that has given me so much joy in my life. Myself and three partners founded an arts and music event called Who Loves? in 2016 where we ran events catering to up to 500 people. Becoming an Event Organiser was also an incredibly rewarding role, and helped me gain confidence in my ability to manage projects, work with different businesses and artists to support the creative scene, and further establish my leadership and managerial skills. In June 2021, I migrated to Berlin, Germany. This has been a huge life change, but I have never been shy of a change or a challenge and I am very excited about the prospects that the future can hold. I am open to various working opportunities as I would love to provide my skills and develop further skills in a variety of areas.
