About Dakota Simpson

I am an experienced graduate of architecture with about three years post-university and have experience in both residential and commercial architecture. I am looking to further my career in the field of architecture and am currently on the path to obtaining my registration. The projects I have worked on since graduation have ranged from small-scale residential to education and healthcare projects. While the majority of my experience is in documentation I do hope I can gain the experience I need to not only finalise the information I need for registration and be confident to take on registration and expand my knowledge across the field. I am always looking for new ways to further my experience and knowledge across the industry, especially past registration. I see architecture as more than just the building but the connection to the surrounding as well. I see architecture as an important part of society creating spaces for people to gather, and creating daily experiences whether it be residential or commercial spaces. Architecture plays an important part in our everyday lives, assisting in creating the structures that make such an impact on our lives is something I am passionate about becoming a part of. I would love to be able to take a client's vision and draw on the surroundings and their need to create the best space possible. I love how architecture forms over the design process, starting out with a concept and watching the design mold and change into something that the client can appreciate is a beautiful process. Not only do I have experience in the field of architecture but I am also havE completed my diploma in Urban and Regional Planning. This diploma has made me look at larger-scale builds with a different outlook along with understanding the components of developments past the architecture.
