Skilled communications manager with experience developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies for national and statewide organizations. Have a record of successful accomplishments in efforts that reached across all communications/media channels, and includes building respectful relationships with news media. Able to develop and communicate a clear vision for accomplishing organizational goals. Major strengths include excellent communication and listening skills, analyzing input and developing a strategic path for messaging, building and leading effective teams, and working within a budget- I’ve had the pleasure of writing for newspapers, magazines, radio, video, and social channels. Topics have ranged from environmental to nutrition to agriculture production and policy, with goals of public affairs positioning to public relations outreach. As you might guess, becoming good at doing a variety of things stemmed from shouldering some endeavors alone. Other times – and these are my favorite – I worked with teams of really smart and talented people that I not only created with, but learned from. My greatest gift is listening.to news sources, reporters developing stories, clients, opposition sources and advice givers. Then, taking that information, analyzing and sifting it, and putting it to work to deliver effective messaging that informs and inspires.
