About Dale Drees

I am an Instructional Designer in the Online Learning department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as well as an Adjunct professor. I love working here and helping everyone succeed in the online environment. I have been working in higher education since 2006 and I have taught EME2040 online at the University of South Florida and at State College of Florida. I have also worked at New College of Florida as well as Hillsborough Community College. I love to interact with people who might never have the opportunity to meet in a face-to-face setting. I have an MBA and also a ME.d in Curriculum and Instructional with an emphasis in Instructional Technology. I am also certified in the Online Learning Consortium Teaching Certification Program as well as a trainer for Quality Matters. I have also spent some time as a Canvas trainer to schools implementing Canvas throughout the state of Florida in the K-12 system as well in the University system. I love working with students and teachers and helping them grow in their online adventures. Probably the biggest eye-opener for me in online learning happened when I was going through Online Learning Consortium’s online teaching certificate program a few years back. I realized in that program that I was learning and collaborating with people from all over the world and I would have never been able to have such a great learning experience in a local face-to-face class. Before working in higher education I worked as a reporter at a television station in Alaska, as a film director at a post-production house in California, and at a photo lab in Fallon, Nevada for Top Gun. One of my main hobbies is working with the Myakka Bluebird Group building nest boxes for the bluebirds. I have built around 200 nest boxes and our group meets monthly so we educate more people on the importance of building nest boxes to help the bluebirds thrive in our area.
