About Dale Travers

Hi My Name is Dale, and here is a brief history of my last 10 years of employment. About 10 years ago I started of my mining journey as a Dump Truck operator, great for starting out in mining and having no idea about any of it. 2-3 years later I was lucky enough to to get a promotion to De-Waterer, in charge of managing water levels in our pits to allow for and assist production with dogging targets and time lines. After 2 years as a De-Water I got another promotion as a Leading Hand, and moved to a new mine site under the "fixed plant" banner, an area I had never worked in. A fun and rewarding challenge that I took on for 2 years before being moved to a Rehabilitation Leading Hand where I would oversee and helped plan the rehabilitation of mining areas that were completed or mothballed. After 7 years of production mining an opportunity for a career change arose and I was fortunate to gain employment as an Emergency Service Officer, and due to my mining background I have been placed on one of the mine sites I have previously worked at. I have been months in this role sine early 2022 and enjoying it immensely, with a lot still to learn! In all of my employment I have enjoyed learning new skills, environments, management structures and most of all the people. I believe hard work and good connections with workers, management and clients create the best results. people skills is a strong point of my leadership and something I take pride in, but also an area I am always looking to grow on."Always look on the bright side of life"
