Career - After completing my apprenticeship I had over six years of multi-site experience as a self-employed engineer. Being a part of various processes at these many and varied sites enabled me to hone my skills and, upon being offered a full-time role with Enva, allowed me to stamp my mark and settle in. At Enva I was a part of many projects ranging from modification of existing equipment for safety and/or efficiency purposes, installation of new equipment, and implementation of system changes. My proudest achievement was a line extension requiring the entire resupply and redesign of a control panel, whereby I personally took the project from the design stage, through building, programming, and testing stages, right through to commissioning stage. I was delighted to be offered the Engineering Supervisor role at Enva, and enjoyed overcoming the many challenges this role brought with it. Due to the Covid outbreak, coupled with my experience with the plant, I was placed on shifts to assist with breakdown cover. This aligned with my personal circumstances at the time but, with my son soon starting school, I needed a Monday to Friday role to enable me to be there for my children as much as possible. Enva were not in a position to offer me this, so I looked elsewhere. In September 2020 I started as the Site Supervisor at New Earth Solutions in Shawell, Leicestershire. This role had me overseeing the completion of the installation of a polythene recycling facility, leading on commissioning, designing bespoke solutions to water issues on site, and turning the site from a project phase to a fully operational plant. I built the entire team on site, with 9 engineers and 10 operators across 24/7 production. In December 2021 I joined Duo Group as an Electrical Supervisor, joining a rapidly growing business that provides turnkey solutions for new build quarries and recycling centres, and providing aftersales engineering support- Politics & Personal - In May 2019 I stood for and was elected to Heanor & Loscoe Town Council, representing the Conservative Party. I was then elected to Amber Valley Borough Council in May 2021. Due to my experience in the waste management industry I was appointed as Deputy Cabinet Member for Environment and given oversight of the Council's waste contract. Due to work commitments I resigned from Heanor & Loscoe Town Council in November 2022. I am not standing for re-election in 2023. I have been married since August 2011 and have two young children.
