About Dallyn Cann

I’m a Community Economic Development and HR professional with a unique academic foundation in Community, Economic, and Social Development (CESD) from Algoma University — Canada’s only undergraduate program of its kind. My work is rooted in building just, inclusive, and sustainable organizations, focusing on labour relations, training and development, and equitable compensation to retain the highest quality employees. CESD gave me an interdisciplinary education that combines social work, economics, political science, business, and geography. My approach is holistic: I consider how systems interact, how equity can be built into policy and organization design, and how real change happens from the ground up. Alongside this foundation, I bring over hours of experiential learning through co-op and community placements, and eight years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors — supporting inclusive evaluation practices, employee training & onboarding, and workflow optimizations.
