This solver is implemented in C++ with the Message Passing Interface and scales to thousands of CPU cores.2) A multithreaded geometry processing library using OpenMP that converts 2D GDS layout information into a 3D structure suitable for numeric simulation.3) A multithreaded waveguide mode solver based on the finite element method for computing the eigenmodes of optical waveguides, such as, optical fiber. This is a commercially available tool provided by Optiwave.
