About Damian Morgan

Damian Morgan is a seasoned music industry professional with over three decades of experience spanning artist management, development, and music education. His work bridges the worlds of creative entrepreneurship, talent mentoring, and industry consultancy—supporting artists from first demos to international deals. As a manager and consultant, Damian has negotiated recording, publishing, and agency deals for a host of northern UK acts, including Hungry, Working Men’s Club, and The Orielles. Over a ten-year partnership with Heavenly Recordings/[PIAS], he guided The Orielles through the release of three critically acclaimed albums, establishing them as a major force in British indie music. Across his career, Damian has collaborated with members of some of the UK’s most iconic bands—The Smiths, New Order, The Specials, Suede, Oasis, and Happy Mondays—while also working beyond music to represent actors like Matt Berry and other leading TV talent. His work as a music photography agent has seen him curate international exhibitions for acclaimed photographers Ian Tilton and Stephen Wright, helping to celebrate and preserve the visual legacy of British music culture. From 2013 to 2023, Damian was central to the growth of BIMM University Manchester, where he built and led their Industry Liaison and Artist Development programs. His efforts connected students directly to the professional music world, resulting in hundreds of placements and a string of successful label signings. The Artist Development program he created became a cornerstone of the university’s offering, helping launch the careers of the next wave of UK talent. Today, Damian is Industry & Employability Lead (North) at dBs Institute, while continuing to consult independently and mentor emerging artists. He also teaches at LIPA and RNCM, and is deeply committed to supporting the grassroots ecosystem through his involvement with Factory Sounds (Aviva Studios) and the Nordoff & Robbins Northern Music Awards steering group.
