About Damion Walker

I love numbers. I always have. I delight in discerning patterns and puzzling through complex math questions almost as much as enabling others to do the same. I’m relishing the culmination of my 10th year as an IB Math Teacher in top international schools and I am excited by my ongoing doctoral research. My credentials include an EdD in Educational Research (Dec 2021), a Postgraduate Diploma in Math Education, and undergraduate degrees in Math, Economics, and Computer Science. Here are some of my accomplishments: Math Teacher: Enjoyed a nine-year career of 100% student pass rate on IB Exams. Student Engagement: Improved course pass rate 30% by revamping curriculum for relevance, training students to self-regulate, and implementing insights from research and proctoring IB Math Exams. Math Coach: Assisted multiple students in becoming top performers on IB Math Exams and in International Math Competitions, including achieving perfect scores and Top 200 in World status. Program and Curriculum Development: Actively responsible for co-developing Academic Honesty Policy and rubric measuring student acquisition of 21st-century skills-based on my doctoral research. Received Certificate of Recognition when selected by the Beijing Bureau of Education as teacher observation subject and best practices commentator. Computer Proficiencies: SPSS, Autograph, Geogebra, Interactive Whiteboards, Ti-Nspire, Ti-84, Office 365 I have enjoyed great success and been recognized with promotions and escalations of responsibility. My peers acknowledge me as a subject matter expert and consummate researcher who constantly hones curricula to ensure student mastery. My students know me as a tough Math/ToK Coach who also models supplementing academic rigour with non-academic skills and hobbies.
