About Damon Beard

I have spent the last 30 years working in Radio, Social Media and Psychotherpy and have won 8 awards for my work on-air. In 2003 I qualified as a Face To Face, Telephone and Crisis Call Out Psychotherapist, Mediator and Facilitator and then obtained my Private Pilots License in 2004. Whilst working in the media, I designed, implemented and then project managed multiple sponsored events and community initiatives as well as spearheaded social media campaigns, wrote blog posts, scripts, and press releases. With a love for aviation, travel and working with people, I founded the South African 'Flying Without Fear' Course in 2017. I'm based in Christchurch (UK) and currently train the Special Assistance team at Bournemouth International Airport making use of my counselling experience to work with any passengers travelling with reduced mobility and/or special needs (Autism / ADHD / Fear Of Flying / Dementia / Anxiety) I've also worked on the ramp and at a private jet centre (also based at Bournemouth Airport) chocking and coning aircraft, handling bagage and cargo, overseeing fuel uptakes, marshalling aircraft, updating flight schedules, arranging in-flight catering and preparing the aircraft for pushback and departure. I am a purpose-driven out-the-box thinker with a passion for providing outstanding customer serivice.
