About Damon Johnson

I am a retired veteran of the Air Force of 24 years. I learned everything I know from the Military. My morals values and ethics come straight from the Air Force core values; Integrity first, Service before self, and excellence in all we do. I joined the Air Force right out of High School, one week after graduation. I knew I was going to make the Air Force a career. I just followed in my grandfathers’ footsteps. He was my inspiration and motivation. After joining, it took me some time to figure out what I liked about my job. I just had to find a part that motivated me. Eight years later, is when I discovered my passion. It was when supervision placed me in the “tool crib,” aka the support section. That’s when I started to get involved with the logistics of aircraft maintenance, which included supply chain management, acquisitions of materials and supplies, organization, budgets, and eventually LEAN or six sigma. After being assigned to the support section, is where I realized and became passionate about my job. This is why I chose Business Administration (Operations Management) as my career path. Being in-charge of designing, controlling, and quality assurance of production processes, and building relations to other companies for long term connections and profession friendships. That’s why I feel I would be a good fit for this profession, plus my experience and passion for it. I loved what I did in the Air Force when I was in charge of the Support section and wanted to continue something similar in the civilian sector. I did it for so long and made so many improvements that management wanted me to stay there. Usually, management intends to rotate personnel every six months; however, I was there for seven years. Being in charge of that department, I loved it! I have pride in ownership and always put my best foot forward and do the best job to the best of my ability. In the future, one professional goal I'm aiming for is becoming a process owner, and learning as much as possible, to become a valuable asset, one that is reliable and one of the go-to guys. Ultimately, I want to receive my master’s degree in organizational leadership.
